Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) assigns a numerical score to the patient’s stratum of responsiveness; has prognostic advantage in chief injured patients; is reproducible and easy to use.
GCS is base upon eye opening, speaking and motor responses. Each response on the scale is given a number and the responsiveness of the tolerant can be expressed by summation of the figures.
Lowest chalk up is 3 (bad); highest is 15 (good).
