Advil and Aspirin are Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). Aspirin irreversibly inhibits Cycloxygenase (COX)-1 and -2, which are enzyme in the inflammation pathway. Advil also inhibits COX but not irreversibly.
Tylenol is brand identify for acetaminophen. It is not an anti-inflammatory, but it is an analgesic and anti-pyretic. It has shabby anti-prostaglandin properties and is thought to work on the hypothalamus.
